24 Σεπτεμβρίου, 2018

Between the 2nd and the 8th of September, 6 young people from Greece had the opportunity to participate in the “4 Equality” youth exchange. The project was organized and hosted by APF and it took place in Alqueva, Portugal.

The main idea of the project was that gender equality is a human fundamental right and one of the basis of citizenship is ensuring to all individuals the same opportunities to achieve their full potential regardless of their sex and/or gender. After all, providing everyone with the same opportunities benefits society as a whole.

By participating in the youth exchange, the young people have improved the level of their key competences, have learned more about participation in democratic life in Europe and in the labour market, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity.

The objectives of the youth exchange were:

To promote the reflection between the participants, especially next to vulnerable youngsters, about the roots, questions, challenges, mechanisms and possible solutions for gender inequalities in each represented country.

To identify and exchange good practices on raising awareness of public opinion on gender equality issues at southern European level.

To promote non-formal education as a key methodology to work with vulnerable youngsters in matters of Gender Equality, Human Rights and European and Global citizenship.

To promote and disseminate the outcomes of the project as a communication tool for the practices and experiences, taking place at an European level, to promote Gender Equality and all its dimensions, whilst boosting youngsters’ participation and citizenship.

The partner countries of the project were: Portugal, Greece, Malta, Italy and Cyprus.
