“Learning to impact” was the title of the program Kick-Off Meeting: From Learning to Impact held April 4 – 10, 2022 in Amarante, Portugal. It was essentially the introduction of a four-phase program on learning. Something very general that can be broken down in a variety of ways. In the focus of interest was non-formal learning and how it can bring about knowledge through experiential techniques.

The seminar took place in the youth center of Amarante which is designed for actions to cultivate the local culture but also to cover seminars. A fully equipped space that gives young volunteers of the European solidarity corps as well as participants of Erasmus programs the opportunity to create.

The hospitality was very good, the premises comfortable and clean, respecting the protocols against covid-19, the food amazing in every sense of the word and all the volunteers as well as the staff at the youth center were willing to cover any need that arose.

There were some technical problems due to the pandemic that de-coordinated the program a bit but were dealt with in the best possible way by the trainers.

But that was only the beginning!

I look forward to the next phase of the program focusing on learning process design, which will take place in Germany in early June.
