Europe for citizens, Citizen time: act, play, involve!”
The project «Citizentime: Act, play, involve!» was funded with the support of the European Union under the Programme "Europe for Citizens" The project aimed to involve citizens through a gamified mechanism in constructing
positive narratives on immigrants, stimulating intercultural dialogue and citizen involvement and debate at EU level. Three events have been carried out within this project:
Event 1 – Conference in Lisbon, Portugal
Participation: The event involved 51 citizens, including 2 participants from the city of Gdansk (Poland), 2 participants from the city of Madrid (Spain), 2 participants from the city of Isla (Malta), 5 participants from the city of Craiova (Romania), 2 participants from the city of Palermo (Italy), 2 participants from the city of Kalamata (Greece), the rest of the
participants being Portuguese (from Lisbon and Caldas da Rainha).
Location / Dates: The event took place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 13/11/2018 to 14/08/2019
Short description: The aim of the event was to inform citizens about migration waves, current EU policies on integration, how can citizens get involved in policy making, European level resources and online tools.
Event 2 – Transnational volunteering activity
Participation: The event involved 34 citizens, including 4 participants from the city of Gdansk (Poland), 4 participants from the city of Madrid (Spain), 4 participants from the city of Isla (Malta), 4 participants from the city of Caldas da Rainha (Portugal), 4 participants from the city of Palermo (Italy), 2 participants from the city of Kalamata (Greece), 12 participants from the cities of Craiova, Iasi and Falticeni (Romania).
Location / Dates: The event took place in Gdansk (Poland), Madrid (Spain), Isla (Malta), Caldas da Rainha (Portugal), Palermo (Italy), Kalamata (Greece), Craiova, Iasi (Romania) from 02/02/2019 to 01/06/2019
Short description: The aim of the event was to activate immigrants’ social and cultural resources, providing orientation and trying to build intercultural competence and relationships, improve public opinion and policies on integration, increase integration for immigrants, TCNs, minorities involved, equip volunteers and participating NGOs with tools and competences in dealing with social inclusion and integration
Event 3 – Conference in Craiova, Romania
Participation: The event involved 170 citizens, including 3 participants from the city of Gdansk (Poland), 3 participants from the city of Madrid (Spain), 3 participants from the city of Isla (Malta), 2 participants from the city of Caldas da Rainha and Montemor-o-Novo (Portugal), 3 participants from the city of Palermo (Italy), 3 participants from the city of Kalamata (Greece), 153 participants from the cities of Craiova, Bucharest, Iasi and Falticeni (Romania).
Location / Dates: The event took place in Craiova, Romania, from 10/06/2019 to11/06/2019
Short description: The aim of the event was to map national decision makers and relevant stakeholders, to present the policies that the citizens will contribute with a wealth of different views, foster European citizenship, encourage Eu ownership by citizens and develop their cultural and civic competence, their updating on EU action and policy.
