K.A.NE. Social Youth Development has participated in the ERASMUS+ Training Course entitled “YOUth on Board”. It took place in Polanica-Zdrój, Poland from the 18th until the 24th of November.

The training course has gathered together 37 project coordinators and youth workers from 36 youth organizations from Poland, Greece, Italy, Great Britain, Portugal, Malta, Spain, Hungary, Macedonia, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine and Cyprus.

K.A.NE. was represented with Ms. Anastasia Nikolaou.

“I have recently participated in the Erasmus+ Training Course “Youth on Board”. As I participated in a FIRST AID seminar, and crisis management, I most definitely as a medical student will use the knowledge gained by this program on daily basis, and in case of emergencies.

Despite that, my main goal is to transfer this knowledge to people that are less educated on first aid. As we learned during our course, one of the most important parts of a patient surviving in case of emergency, is the work done by a stranger that passes by, that has learned NOT to be ignorant. His or her work is of great value, and makes the paramedics’s work when the ambulance arrives, easier and more efficient. Educating people not to be ignorant and the basis of first aid is my goal.

During this short period I most certainly have broadened my horizons, and I also understood the real meaning of “united in diversity” . I got over some stereotypes that exist in my country, and was surprised to learn that things are not exactly what we were taught to believe they are.

I found this training program truly enlightening and very well organized. I am very grateful to have been a part of it, and I would definitely do it again.”
